Anyone Know what this is. I am guessing a cell phone of some sorts. All the members where wearing them exactly the same with the white bead in the center.

GPS and a pace counter like the rangers ???That's what I was thinking, but I'm not altogether sure how those beads would work.

It's a flotation device. If I had to guess, they're wearing them on both sides.

Ours were green, but the concept is the same. Fall in water, pull up on the beaded cord. It releases the nylon cover and causes a mechanical "striker" to pierce a CO2 cartridge, which inflates a flotation device. These are frequently used during VBSS ops, boat transits, etc. - pretty much anything where there's a risk of someone falling in the water in full kit.

So they are water wings? That is disappointing. I thought they were some sort of super duper tacticool gadget.

Then again I suppose if you hit the water with all that gear you'd give anything for some floatation.
