So last night I made a trade for my XD40sc, Taurus 605, a couple hundred rounds of ammo and $400 for a Desert Eagle .50 AE with the .44 conversion barrel. I can't believe how awesome this thing is.
Even my wife is impressed with the Awesome-ness of this piece. I actually have no idea why I wanted one so badly, but i did and now it's all mine.
I can't wait to see what kind of fireball shoots out of this thing

Congrats!

The 50AE is an awesome round and the DE is a cool pistol.

Nice new gun. Tell us how it shoots.

I have always found them interesting. I like stuff that is a little different. Take myself for example. Never mind. Wrong forum.
Anyway, started out by finding a DE .357 about 10 years ago. It was cool. I thought it was a lot of firepower in a semi auto. Kind of wished it was at least a .44, but I still liked it. About 5 years later, I found a guy who had a .50, which I thought was super cool too. Anyway, I further found a .44 at a pawn shop. I was able to sell the .357 to my .50 buddy, so he had the spectrum. About a year ago, I found a brushed chrome .50 with the rosewood grips at a shop. I was able to sell the .44 to the guy I was with so I could buy the .50 Last year, the .44 guy was changing jobs, so he needed to sell the .44 and gave me first chance at it, so I got it back, so I have both. I kind of keep my eyes open for a .357 at the gunshows, just for fun. Anyway, fun and interesting pistols.

You guys should think about getting the Hogue grips. They make a huge difference in control. Oh yeah... I LOVE my DE.:wavey:

Here's a couple of vids. They are reloads - 30grains of H110 behind a 350grain TMJ bullet. FPS=1315:wow:

Watch my son near the end of this vid. He has a huge flinch to the side.

I generally do wear shooting gloves when shooting the 50 so I just may look into a set of the Hogue grips. Those are great videos.

Just thought I'd stop in and update this thread.
Sent my little beauty in for a face lift to Customized Creationz last month, and yesterday she came out of the shop looking like this...

I have been thinking about a .44 mag DE for about the last 2 weeks.....

This thread has me thinking even harder....

.......convince you to pick one up.

I have had a DE chambered in .44mag now for some 19'ish years. (Can't believe it's been that long !)

It is an older MK1 and shoots like a SOB. It has killed everything from black bear, moose, very large deer, down to beaver, coyotes and porcupine. Now in Florida, it has several of the larger boar hogs to it's credit.

My weapon is a hunter not a plinker or something that allows me to feel "big" at the club. It is a true working gun, always has been.

And take note......I refrained from using the word "awesome" even once.

That sounds really great! I would love one to plink and hunt with both...
