Specifically Federal 9BPLE 115gr +P+ out of a Glock 26.

Would it still be effective (penetration/expansion) out of such a short barrel?

Just sit here & wait. There will be a dozen or so people who will come along & tell you that to use anything other than 147 gr. is insanity and speak of countless "Gello-Man" tests ad nauseum. As for me, all I use is 115 gr. +p+ cause it works on PEOPLE.

I don't care about bullet weight as long as it penetrates and expends well. I just want to see some tests out f a short barrel.

It clocks about 1250 -1275 fps out of a G26.

Would it still be effective (penetration/expansion) out of such a short barrel?Since it's moving slower it may penetrate more, since that would cause it to expand at a slower rate, but still reach the same expanded size. Just a theory.

Amen to the 115+p+---Gello tests don't represent bones, skin, etc. of people!
:patriot:

I understand where you are coming from, but it is so hard to find good volunteers for bullet testing.

How did it fare penetration and expansion wise???

This stuff is available for really cheap these days. $15.95 for a box of 50. I am considering several boxes of the stuff. At one time 115 grain was the standard for 9mm. I would use the load and be confident with it. After all, they say if something is worth shooting, then it is worth shooting twice.

If you just have to fire 9mm at light speed, it is called the .357 Sig.

I've shot +p+ Gold Dots out of a G17 at a pin shoot. That is a NASTY round. Lots of beautiful bowling pin carnage. heehee.

The round has legendary stopping power. I wouldn't want to get hit with it. I carry it on the streets of NYC.

Try several SD loads out of your gun to see which one your gun likes. They'll all work on BG's. Mine likes 124+P Gold Dots the best.

Corbon's 9mm 90 grain +P load supposedly gets around 12"+ of penetration.

Does anybody have actual velocity results from the G-26 when shooting the Federal 9bple? Not guesses, but actaual chronograph results?

The .357 Sig cartridge is a solution to a non-existant problem.

That's a low blow!!!

:tongueout::rofl::wavey:

Personally, I really like the 115 Gr. +P+ and the 127 Gr. +P+ Winchester Ranger for 9MM.

I got on the 115 Gr. +P+ kick because of reading your posts!!!

actually, it's called 9x25 Dillon ....

BTW the 115gr GDHP holds up well and penetrates 12"+ in gel, even from the 9x25D...tough little pill.

The Speer +p+ load has one of the hottest 'feels' I've experienced in 9mm. Bright white flash and noisy too.

No, not really because itís not the truth. Itís a shame people think this because the round is such a phenomenal round.

More for me I guess!

Yeah, I guess I'll let ya have as much .357Sig as you want. Just save me a few. There's still a few rounds of Sig that I need for my collection.
