I found a NIB Browning Hi Power Practical in 40 S&W for $800.

It comes with the box, papers, test cases and all the things that come with a new gun. This is a fixed sight version, and I've got a set of Trijicons on the way. This is the blue slide, hard chrome frame with Pac grips version.

Anything I should know about the 40 before I shoot it? I don't even know what ammo to put in it as far as bullet weight, as I'm not a fan of the 40. I have access to the 155 Grain load by Winchester and 165 Grain Speer.

I'm moving to the 40 S&W as my EDC caliber, don't ask. At least I can still carry a Single Action.

Thanks all, take care and stay safe.

The only store in my area that carries Hi Powers on a regular basis sells the Mark III's and Practicals right about at $760+ tax.

OK, that's what I figured, I paid retail.

I'm OK with that as the Practical is more limited in production and no dealer around here can find a distributor with a new Hi Power to sell me. No taxes and a small FFL fee and it's mine.
