Does the special edition GSSF G17 have any more value than a standard G17 in the same condition ?

Not yet. Wait about 15 years for any kind of premium on the "mass-produced" commemoratives.

The low-production number, limited-release commemoratives, like the Alaskan Comm., Bell Helicopter Comm., and AH-64 Instructor Pilot's are worth a premium already.

The only mass-produced Glock Comm. that is worth a premium is the Desert Storm. It was the first commemorative, and it's the oldest, and it's the coolest as far as where the markings were engraved, and it's in high-demand with vets of that war.

All the rest and you'll have to wait quite some time for them to be worth any kind of premium. To be worth a bunch, plan on handing them down to your kids.

The first 500 were two-pin and the second 500 were three-pin.

Two pin Three pin ??????

Oh forget it now I remember.
What is interesting is even thought my GSSF G17 was sent back for the receiver replacement program. The replacement receiver is a two pin.

I would call 1000 a pretty low production number! There were a few that only had a 500 run but come on. 1000 out of how many glocks ever sold in the world? As i recall there was a -1 on the upgraded frames serial number or the letter A Id have to go read up again but the replacement frames are marked. Mine had not been replaced.

I had GSSF002 and sold it unfired for a small profit to someone that wanted it to collect it. That was not too long after they completed the 1000 run.

I shoot my GSSF a litttle bit because it had been fired along with some great upgrades when i got it from a guy who shoots competition. It is still like new condition with a 3.5 lb trigger, extended slide release and Pro Slant sites. Have to shoot it once and a while to make sure its still working properly :snoopy:
