Does anyone know of a good place for tactical training in central Florida, preferably Tampa, but I am willing to travel.

I am looking for a combat / self defense handgun and shotgun class to hone my skills.

Or check the Gainesvilletargetrange.com web site and see when Bill Jeans is doing his next visit to Gainesville.

i've heard multiple good reviews on southern exposure. a co-worker has gone several times and he has nothing but good reviews. look for randy cain.

i'm going to jim clark's class in march. highpointpst.com it appealed to me because it fits into my busier schedule with a one day class instead of 2-3 days. right now, i can't get that much time off when the classes are scheduled. his range where he does the class is supposedly south of bartow.

i sent in my registration form over a week ago...i haven't heard anything back just yet.

Bill is an oustanding instructor. I've had 12 (I think it's that high) classes with him.

Count me in for another endorsement of Southern Exposure Training Facility (http://www.southernexposuretraining.com/) and Randy Cain. (http://guntactics.com/) Southern hosts different instructors (past appearances have included Bill Jeans, Louis Awerbuck, Steve Tarani and many others), so keep an eye on the schedule for changes and additions. It's best to just get in touch with Irv (contact info on the website) to receive regular updates.

Southern Exposure and Randy are great, but I acknowledge that budgets and schedules are not always what we may hope for. With that in mind, here are some other instructors and locations in the Tampa area that may be able to help you. These are not listed in any particular order, and you should research each instructor or location to see if what's offered is what you are looking for:

Jim Clark / High Point Personal Security Training (Ruskin / Lakeland) (http://www.highpointpst.com/)
S2 Institute (Clearwater / Pinellas Park) (http://www.s2institute.com/index.php): Advanced Firearms 1 - Street Ready Skills (http://www.s2institute.com/content/_pages_advanced/_courses/af1.php) and AF 2 - Tactical Engagement. (http://www.s2institute.com/content/_pages_advanced/_courses/af2.php)
Norm Belson (Pinellas County) (http://www.staysafestreets.com/)
Wyoming Antelope Club (Pinellas Park) (http://www.antelopeclub.org/)
Knight's Shooting Sports (Clearwater) (http://www.knightshooting.com/)
