Random thoughts on various types of guns and shooting, primarily handguns, usually outdoors, in all kinds of weather. "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays this shooter from the swift delivery of his pointed rounds (and wadcutters, too)." Other non-gun stuff will be added on occasion, when it suits my fancy.
.22 auto-loading pistols; how many magazines does a person need?
I know a lot of you have .22 autopistols; Rugers, S&Ws, Brownings, Berettas, Walthers, whatever. Perhaps even some Glocks with rimfire conversion kits! What do you think is the minimum number of magazines a .22 shooter needs?
I live in an area where it gets pretty nippy in the winter, and I dislike loading .22 mags barehanded in the cold, or fumbling around with the tiny rounds when I have to do it with gloves on. So I always make sure I get plenty of mags for my rimfires; in some cases, enough that I can pre-load enough rounds for almost an entire range session.
So, how many magazines do you have for each rimfire autoloading pistol, and why?

CDNN had a sale maybe ending today 17.85 ruger mark 3- 7th free.
My range doesn't allow us to reload mags in sitting area, so I have enough for my wife and I to shoot .22 and 9 mm without reloading... So more then 30 mark 3 mags and over a dozen 33rds for 9mm glock. We like to take breaks between rounds and used to reload. Now we just relax during breaks. We share a few Glocks- 17/17L and 26. But we both use different mark 3s (no sharing lol) |

I love to shoot my 22s. I don't think you can have to many.

Thanks for the kind words! Not really a very fancy set-up, sorry. 6MP Nikon point-and-shoot (L1), about 20 shots from slightly different angles to get the lighting/reflection close to where I wanted it, then a little bit of "tweaking" in Photoshop.
