Lubricating the firing pin on a Glock 23

I am new to handgun ownership, and the last time I field stripped my g 23 I put a dab of oil inside the firing pin channel at the rear of the slide. I realized that one should not do this with a Glock, and now I'm wondering if this will cause any misfires. This is mainly a home defense weapon, so I will not be shooting it on a daily basis. Any feedback is much appreciated.

You can take compressed air and blow any oil out but sometime in the future you will need to make sure it is clean and dry. Any gunsmith or Glock armorer can do that for you. Only shooting it a lot so that carbon, unburnt power and dust build up will cause a misfire.Posted 12-09-2010 at 16:47 by Glockman223
