The speeds drop off pretty fast on hollow points compared to FMJ's. The ratings are muzzle speeds.

I've shot GD's and others into all kinds of media with no separations, even the silvertips new design proved good.

The mag wouldn't stay in it after that but he could hold it in and it would still shoot.
