Thanks ADK. I'll take your experience into consideration when I get my hands back on the G17. Hope to shoot it in my first IDPA match of the fall in mid September in AZ. If it goes well, then I'll probably just keep honing my skills with that gun (and the Kahr in some BUG matches).

Thanks ADK. I actually shoot a G26 best of all, but I really would like to have the tac light option for home and other night applications ... just trying to decide if I want to dedicate my learning curve to the G17 or G34. It seems like the G34 is the overwhelming favorite among IDPA competitors at the IDPA national match each fall.

Don't know why I can't reply to your post but the AWB is still in effect in New York.
High capacity mags, AR's with flash hiders and other nifty stuff that are legal in PA, for example, are illegal in NY if they were manufactured after the AWB went into effect.

Supposedly low and left is "too much trigger finger" for a rightie.

What does that mean, exactly?

That avatar is 60 years old.
I still like toys that go bang!

Soon after the cap pistol, I got a Red Ryder BB gun. About that time my dad bought the family farm from his older brother who was retiring from the business. "7 thousand - lock stock and barrel."

"Barrel" included the family dump: about 50 yards up the "lane" behind the barn was a small fenced in area that was grown up with small trees. Anything we'd "recycle" today...
