tyesai, I picked up a caving mentor about a year ago. He's on the training committee for the NSS-CDS. I have completed the NSS-CDS and NACD requirements through Basic Cave and have started on my Apprentice rating and plan to finish it and full cave in February.

I came from a technical wreck background primarily but as you have noted it's hard to find and keep buddies to dive with. Most of my wreckers moved away so I gravitated towards a new shop and divers who are primarily cave.

I've all but handed over the Political Issues forum on GT over to the Neocon's and Progressives that haunt the place. It would appear conservatism is dead, imperialism is an "American" mind set and the rest of the world's nations shall not be permitted to be sovereign.

Basically the idea of freedom, liberty and republicanism either fully escapes them or they just don't want anyone to have it other than themselves. Sad really.
