Sorry Texas T- I guess I left out some details on myself. I dont work for a company or produce a product. I am a Professional in the California Fire Service.

I love my union protection because sometimes Management gets sideways and thinks it needs to kick the lower workers around. No one tell me what "union lines" to say, think or feel. I dont have a fat-cat boss.

For me, being in a union is cheap, and I mean very cheap insurance. It means I cant get kicked around or fired because my boss is having a bad day. It ensures that laws and prodeures are followed.

In closing, you dont know me but I am paid to risk my life and health for a perfect stranger. I have been shot at, thrown up on, had stranger's blood on me and hurt my back moving dead people. All I ask for in the process is to not be harrassed at work, a decent work environment and for my Supervisors to treat me fair. Being a member in the IAFF ensures this for me and allows be to deliver a better product to the taxpayers.
