Who here has the lowest prefix S/N?

Just curious really..

BTN dated pencil barrel

Great topic. I don't have that early of one, but I know many GTers have NIB "AF" series G17s (first prefix imported into US, and several have used "AA" Austrian Army trade-ins. Maybe they'll come along and post some photos.

I wouldn't mind trading my Excellent condition ALxxx pencil barrel for a AA of almost any condition. PM if interested.

I have an AX ### that I acquired in 1986 at the Soldier of Fortune 3 Gun Shoot in Las Vegas. It's been shot very regular since then, for the past 23 years. This is one of the most reliable guns I have ever owned. Up until a year ago, I shot this Glock at least 20K rounds/year which means that it has had at least a half million rounds (500K) shot through it. I've won too many GSSF, IDPA and IPSC Production matches with it to count.

I know that there maybe older models in existence here in the states but the one that I own has been a great example of the gun's dependability.

Well I only have one Glock, G17. Purchased in 1986 or 1987, just had to have one of those plastic guns. This year it became my main carry. Ser. # AS4xx made in June of 1986.

Yesterday, in a private sale, I acquired AF 14x US. It has a GTF coded pencil barrel and came in it's original labeled box with accessories and still has black parts. It's not unfired but it's close. Am I correct in thinking this is one of the first thousand Glocks imported into the US?

I bought a Glock 17 serial number AA223 when they first came out. I believe it was November or December of 1984. I wish I still owned the gun. All the parts including the serial number plate were all black. The gun had the adjustable sights.

I sold mine as soon as a newer model came out!

I do not like old guns or old people.

I love my grand kids.

I am not old 69 in July. If I make it.

My G17 has the AUxxxx serial prefix

GTF is the date code that shows the gun was made in July of 1984, which is kinda interesting since it wasn't imported until January of 1986.

I need to get the date code from your G17 barrel! :)
