New Glock 19 and viridian x5l(pics)

I had been wanting a G19 for sometime now and about a week ago I made the decision I was ready to buy. I knew I wanted a light for HD and figured a laser light combo would work well. The viridian x5l is pretty amazing and fits the G19 perfect even though it is very pricey i still recommend it. I have shot the gun without the light and it was flawless and cant wait to use it with the laser but anyways enough talking here some pics even though my camera sucks.

DK,
You may want to read http://glocktalk.com/forums/showthre...m#post14353933 . The loose fit of a Glock slide to its frame poses a problem for frame mounted lasers. Don't be surprised if your groups aren't as tight as with the original sights.

I just returned my GLK because it suddenly refused to stay on. After having had it for 4-5 months, they allowed me to opt for a brand new X5L as my replacement, by paying the difference between the MSRP prices. I'll have it in a few days. Hope I'm not throwing good money after bad, but they are really easy to work with and I love the green laser (for these old progressive lens eyes).

Congrats on the 19! :wavey:

That laser looks kinda big on there. Is the 19 any heavier with that light/laser on there?

You needn't fire a single shot to see the alignment problem. If you co-witness the laser with the fixed sights with the gun empty, and then load a dummy round, you will find that the two sights are no longer co-witnessed. If you cycle the dummy rounds, you will see the two sighting systems constantly changing relative to each other.

Can you get pics of the Light and laser on???

I'd kinda like to get some type of light/laser combo, but that thing looks kinda big, How front heavy is it???

Take a look at http://www.viridiangreenlaser.com/video/viridianx5l/ and the weight is listed as 2.9 oz for both the GLK and X5L models.

Was your target at least 21 ft away? On my G19, the POA's separate by several inches when I load a cartridge and then move an inch or two with each clycling of the slide.

d13s3l 01-29-2010 23:39

it does look heavier than posted weight.

good for a bedside gun.
holster would be huge to hold that sucker

bentbiker - thanks for link above, good info.

It was right in and around 20-22

smullen 01-29-2010 23:53

I might just be better off getting a Clapper for the Bedroom... :)

Now If I could just clap one handed, while holding the Glock in the other...

Then perhaps your groups will be equally tight with both sight systems. Let us know.

Nicko 01-30-2010 09:20

Nice. Congrats

dkgreyf150 01-30-2010 12:14

It's really not that big and it's better than having a TLR 2 sticking past the barrel 2 inches
