Pre Ban, Ban, Post Ban

I own a AR-15 purchused new during the Clinton years in office and would like to replace the 20 barrel with a new 20 inch. Question can I now put a Post Ban barrel on it or should I keep a Ban barrel ???

You can install a barrel with a threaded muzzle if you like a flash hider or brake.

either, a threaded barrel is a preban or after ban.
