Extended mag's. for the 36

How many of you guys carry your 36 with the extended mag. I carry my 36 with the 6 rd. mag. and one in the chamber. I also carry an extended mag. on my belt. That way I have 7 in the gun and 7 in the next mag. Easier for me to count rounds. Maybe I am getting old.

Pecos Bill 01-24-2011 06:43

That's how I do it as well.

If I'd carry the G36, that's how I'd do it.

CBH 01-26-2011 05:39

I carry mine with a Pearce +1 extension and one in the chamber......most of the time.

G36 +1 in Pistol, two +0 as back up (Pierce Grips)

Jim S. 02-12-2011 17:55

I use the stock mags.
No extensions.

DaGentleman 02-12-2011 17:58

Pearce + 0 on all 3 of my mags....

KC Kahr 03-04-2011 17:10

I carry it that way. extension +1. No feed issues, adds very little to overall height, maybe 3/16. Makes for a much better shooter, actually. No more mag pinch, either.

They're cheap, buy one and try it. $8. You'll be buying another in a week.

Would be nice if they had a + more than just one.

streakpi 03-07-2011 06:44

I've got two +1 extensions but, for the life of me, can't get the baseplate off the bottom of my stock mags. Any advice...never had this happen on any other mags!!!

Pecos Bill 03-07-2011 07:11

Comes off just like the others it is just TOUGH !! LOL It will come off and usually will be reusable but it does come off extremely hard.

KC Kahr 03-07-2011 07:58

You've got those side tabs to deal with. Pain. I just cut those tabs off because I like to clean my mags often. No biggie.

streakpi 03-07-2011 15:15

@KC - "side tabs" what the heck are those? Am I the only one having this issue? Just tried again, thought I was gonna stab myself. Gonna have to find another tool...

I wedge a small flat device (i.e. butter knife) down either side of the mag base to contend with the side locking devices and then use a punch to depress the mag lock on the bottom.

.....

KC Kahr 03-07-2011 16:06

Easier if you've got 3 or 4 hands. Somebody makes a special tool for that, but I said screw it, cut 'em off...

Clark is right, butter knife is a perfect tool for the 1st time.

Sonnytoo 03-07-2011 17:49

I generally carry six in, six out. Standard mags.
S2

Same here.
No reason, IMHO, to add more variables to the mix.
Mine always works.
Always.

Yep, this is how I do it.......

streakpi 04-08-2011 09:37

I carry a 6 in the gun and a +1 on my side or in pocket. I've used the +1 mags plenty...they always work.

BTW- figured out how to remove baseplate with the help of two butter knifes and plenty of patience, thanks for the advice (even though my wife was not to happy to see me using her silverware!)
