New Owner
Hey everbody,
I recently purchased a Glock from a friend of mine and am new to the world of Glock. I took it to my local gun shop and got some interesting looks and responses from the owners and gunsmith's there. I have called Smyrna and they tell me that according to the Serial number that I read off that it is a Gen 3 G17. Here is a photo of it. Let me know what ya'll think. http://i514.photobucket.com/albums/t.../WP_000639.jpg |
Gen2 for sure. Interesting engraving on the frame handle.

Are you positive? Glock in Smyrna said the serial came back as a Gen 3.
|
Gen2 for sure. I dont care what they say!
Look at the trigger pin...... you see a locking block pin? Nada! Look at the handle...... you see finger grips? Nada! Look at the dust cover.... you see a rail? Nada! |
Thanks JR. Show's the true value of customer service these days lol

The guys at Glock Inc are real experts. They know this stuff inside & out. Something is wrong, somewhere, somehow information got crossed. You know how it is.
FYI: The 3 things I listed above are a basic failsafe for identification. |
Well they went off of the serial that I read to them. GFXXXUS....so now I'm more worried that I picked up a parts gun.
EDIT: just went to the following link http://www.flarms.com/forums/showthread.php?113-Glock-Serial-Numbers and found out that it is in fact a Gen2 made in June of 89....this thing is almost as old as I am lol |
