S&W 40VE or Sig P250
Mas,
There are two used pistols, both in excellent shape, for sale in my area by private sellers. One is the S&W 40VE and the price is $250-$270, depending on the negotiation. The other is a Sig P250 9mm for $330. I have a large quantity of 40 ammo and no 9mm. This would not be a primary gun, just a range toy / backup. Any thoughts on which you would choose for this role or any cautions? Many thanks. |
With one of the sweetest double action only auto triggers out there, not to mention the light 9mm recoil, the P250 will almost certainly prove to be the more shootable. The heavy trigger on the Sigma will teach anyone double action trigger control. If you've got lots of .40 ammo to burn, that's obviously a plus for the less expensive Sigma .40.

Thanks, Mas. Your expertise is greatly appreciated. I especially appreciate such a quick response.
