FL knife laws, Jacksonville area
Hey, I'm heading to Jacksonville tomorrow morn to see the Bears play the Jaguars.
I normally carry a pocket knife and I just wanted to check if there were any restrictions I needed to worry about. Any info is helpful. I checked a knife law page or two and I'm pretty sure I'm in the clear...but I like to hear from real people when I can. |
Probably clear but if there is a butthead with a wand anywhere , they will probably tell you to lose the "weapon" .

I'll leave it at the hotel for the game. But I'm there 4 days and feel weird without my knife.

You're looking for F.S. 790.001 (13)
(13) "Weapon" means any dirk, knife, metallic knuckles, slungshot, billie, tear gas gun, chemical weapon or device, or other deadly weapon except a firearm or a common pocketknife, plastic knife, or blunt-bladed table knife. A common pocketknife is not a weapon under Florida law. Florida Firearms by Jon Gutmacher talks about this on pages 105 and 106 in detail. |
