Not a Commander, not an Officer, but a Commanding Officer!

The historian wrote that letter the day I was born

I think that's a perfect example of something that's rare because it was a stupid idea.

Mad Ryan 10-19-2012 09:44

lol worst of both worlds...

I've been seriously thinking of doing a caspian build with an officers length grip and commander length slide but that's just silly...

ca survivor 10-19-2012 10:06

never seen before.

:rofl:Not to mention that it's priced about $2000 more than I'd pay for it.

bac1023 10-19-2012 16:57

No thanks

matt_lowry123 10-19-2012 18:01

Gross!!!! That's a price I wouldn't pay!!

faawrenchbndr 10-19-2012 18:10

About as apealing as a Corvette with a 4 cylinder under the hood! :faint:

countrygun 10-19-2012 18:15

Gosh I remember those and I missed them when they first showed up. I think I am going to have to make sure I don't buy this one to make myself feel better about not buying one the first time.

RonS 10-19-2012 18:38

If you can find a Dodo bird I hear they are worth a lot too.

CaptCave 10-19-2012 19:14

isn't kimber making something similar with their "ultra + " sized gun

And that's why it didn't sell for squat back in the days.

If I were to find one for reasonable price, I'd buy it just for giggles, but yeah, that was a dumb idea.

Yeah. That's another silly build IMO.

bac1023 10-24-2012 13:36

For me, its simply. I don't buy any 1911 without a full length frame and a barrel shorter than 4". That leaves out the CCOs though, unfortunately.

I have a Colt lightweight officer's model that I put a combat commander slide and barrel on. It shoots very well.
