Worth? RR 1945 1911
2 Attachment(s)
Posting a few pics of my RR 1911, looking to get a figure on worth.....numbers matching serial #2442478

Realistically, probably under a grand. People ask all sorts of crazy prices for them, but you have to look at what people are bidding.
This one is more realistic. Here's one in very good condition for $1400, but still no bids and its been posted for a week. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/Vie...Item=312835441 |
Value depends on condition, provenance if available, and location of the sale. I paid $1050.00, OTD for mine this summer, a 1945 Remington Rand in 90% condition, with a Risdon mag here in Texas. Saw another locally for $1,200.00, a 1943 in 60% condition.

Thank you both for the information...now to decide...keep it or sell or trade for AR....hummmmmm
|
There's no way I'd trade that piece of history for a dime a dozen plastic rifle.

I agree with BAC, I would hang onto the RR. That RR will only go up in value and its a piece of history.

Keep it at any cost. Anything you would buy with it can be duplicated with money at any other time. That is a one time one of a kind.
I saw a 1940s Colt WWII US Army model sell at local auction for well over $3k, but it was in absolutely PERFECT condition. Everything matched and was correct, and the finish was near perfect. |
I paid $550 a piece for two 1944 NRA DCM rebuilt Franken RR's last year. To a collector I guess it would really depend on whether it has gone through an arsenal rebuild, or if it has all the correct parts on it. Then, there's the local market where you live.
RR made more 1911's during the war years than any other manufacturer. Bill |

I understand....I do not need the cash.

I don't have a WWI or WWII 1911/1911A1 yet, but if I did there's no chance it's ever leaving my collection. You have no reason to sell and every reason to keep it. It's not one of those "sell off just to get something new" type of guns.
