pochis 11-27-2012 15:11

pochis 11-27-2012 15:19

hey bac, if u go to 1911forum.com go to colt at the top hit picture thread it is #9.

MD357 11-27-2012 15:21

1991s with the huge ugly rollmark go for a good bit less than that in my book. Doesn't sound like a good deal.

xx78 11-27-2012 15:36

Not a steal but not too bad in my book.

Going rate for 1991 series 80 pistols is 550-600 bucks, depending on condition.

Okay, there are two 1991 models:

A. M1991A1 - this is the el cheapo version that came out back in the late 1980s/early 1990s.

B. Current Series 80 models are called M1991.

The picture in the thread shows the B version. I can buy this exact model for $850 NIB.

Perhaps you should do a little studying on 1911's because many people, myself included, do not care for a series 80 with the firing pin block.
There are plenty of series 70's available so you need to figure out which you would prefer before you spend your money.

That's about retail. LGS or private sale?

faawrenchbndr 12-06-2012 11:47

The 1991 is a pooch,.......I would pass on any price over $600

countrygun 12-06-2012 14:42

To put it gently

If you want a 1911 as a shooter you can do a lot better for that money.

If you want a "Colt" because it's a "Colt" that isn't the model to spend that money on.
