First 2013 1911

After a lot of agonizing and reading I bought a CCO that I intend to carry! I have been jonesing for a long time. I bought a STI Guardian and sold it after shooting it once. It just wasn't 'right' for me. Then I bought the old Springfield Compact that is too pretty to scratch or alter. Then I went back to thinking I wanted a LB Stinger. For whatever reason I backed off of that idea every time I was about to send CJ the deposit.

This came to my attention a few days ago, and I got butterflies!
Guncrafter Industries Stainless CCO

It should land at my FFL on Friday or Saturday! Hopefully Bac's words that I adopted for a sig line will ring true!

Happy New Year Everyone!

Steel Head 01-01-2013 09:34

Congrats.
I like their look, very clean.

sawgrass 01-01-2013 10:07

Thanks Steel Head. I really like the clean look as well.
I haven't even seen a GCI in person, so I'm a little nervous about this but have heard only good things about them.

mleroux21 01-01-2013 11:41

Congrats. Nice Grab!!!!

Marc

Dang I can't get the picture to copy properly.
I guess I'll have to wait until it's here to post a pic.

glock2740 01-01-2013 13:03

Congrats! You're gonna love it. I'll help you out a bit...

Thank You. Thank God I don't have to rely on computer picture skills to make a living.

Joe, you're the best! Thanks.

glock2740 01-01-2013 13:09

We're all anxiously awaiting to hear your thoughts on it. Those of us who have Guncrafters know exactly what you're about to get and have no doubt that you'll be more than pleased.

faawrenchbndr 01-01-2013 14:03

Awesome,...........can't wait to hear your thoughts!

ca survivor 01-01-2013 17:27

Congrats.

bac1023 01-01-2013 17:48

Congrats SG

You will love it. GC is one of the world's top builders.

sawgrass 01-01-2013 18:01

Thanks.

Oddly enough there isn't that much info 'out there'.
I've search all over regarding this one being stainless since
previously they were hard chromed.

I'm really excited. I don't expect to own more than one GCI and wanted a CCO so hopefully this does scratch the itch.

I've read a few things that one of the smiths from GCI has posted and am impressed by his words.

faawrenchbndr 01-01-2013 19:18

Here are the three stainless GI No Name 1911s. The back one will
be my first for 2013.

sawgrass 01-01-2013 19:24

Sweet. I think you came out on top of that deal!

FAA, do you have any info regarding the CCO being stainless.
Dave (thanks for the referral from both you and Glock2740) is going to let me know if he hears anything. He also mentioned some lube that Alex sends out with the stainless guns.

I forgot to mention it to the dealer that I'm buying it from.

Glock2740 do you own one of those? Is that the 'three amigos"?

Those are so nice looking. I love the simple, graceful lines.

Man, I hope it comes on Friday!

faawrenchbndr 01-01-2013 20:36

SlideGlide is what I use on 1911 slide rails.
I previously used Rig +P stainless steel lube.......outstanding!

sawgrass 01-01-2013 20:43

I keep meaning to check out the Enos site. I've heard good stuff about that lube.

I thought the Rig grease is more of a preservation grease.

Must not have stainless galling!

Thanks FAA. Damn that is a nice looking gun.
Have you shot it yet? I'm thinking you are too busy with family.
Soon?

I'm not into shiny guns but I got to admit that is a beauty:wow:
I have been running Slide-glide for a bit now-stays put and works well in freezing temps.
