Picked up a Springfield Armory XDs .45 today
Sold my Shield yesterday.Decided to change up to a .45 for my EDC.Stopped by my LGS to see what he had. There were a lot of Glocks, a few Sigs,M&P's...Then, I saw it...a bi-tone XDs.I checked it out and was really impressed with it overall.So...I bought it.Brought my range bag with me when I picked it up,then headed to the range. It was dry so I greased the slide rails and loaded it up for a quick test run.Only had 50 rounds of ball ammo.I shot a couple mags of my carry ammo, GD 230gr,to make sure it would feed.It functioned perfectly.Very accurate and mild recoil.Hope to get more ammo soon and break it in.So far, I really like it.

Congratulations, my experience with XDS is a similar one.
Mine is being packed daily! |
Congrats, the XDs looks like a nice little gun.

I've been very pleased with mine. I've put about 200 rounds of FMJ through it as well as about 20 of my carry ammo. No hiccups whatsoever.

Anyone know where I can find a good kydex OWB holster for it?

I'll be interested to see the responses to this question. I prefer Kydex OWB paddle holsters for concealed carry, specifically the Comp-Tac one. I've been asking them for months to make one for the XD-S but they keep saying that there's not enough interest. :steamed: |

mini 45s are cool, getting one to work right out of the box is better.

Congrats, they are nice little pistols.

I picked up my all black XDS the other day and finally got to shoot it yesterday. First shot at 20 feet - bullseye - next four shots in a half dollar sized hole. I was so excited that the next mag first shot . . . DANG I threw a flyer 4 inches low. Simmer down - breathe - ah back in the bullseye for 24 out of 25. Roll out to 35 feet and head shots all the way on a B-29B target - opening up to a 3-4 inch group. OK for a defensive gun that is new to me (not quite like my Sig 220 which I can hold much tighter groups). Back to social distances (20 feet) and double taps - low ready start with the first shot CM with around a 5 inch group and every second shot low around 5-6 inches low. I'm guessing that the gun is so light that and the recoil being very manageable that I have overcompensated and dropped every follow up shot. More practice needed. 75 rounds shot with an uncleaned gun straight from the box. I did shoot one round purposely with a light grip just to see what it would do and I got a light strike on the primer. Anyhow I have carried in a Blackhawk/Uncle Mikes IWB cheapie holster for several days to get the feel of it and it's nice. I also bought a Blackhawk Askins style compact leather designed for the M&P (size 28) which fits perfectly. So far I'm lovin' this gun!
