Talk me into a Glock 20
 

OK I was pretty set on a Masterpiece arms 9mm. Till I discovered you could buy extended barrels for glocks.

Only buying this gun has a plinker/novelty. I really love the Glock 20, with the 6" stainless lone wolf barrel.

The problem is a Glock 20 is 650 dollars, plus the 130 dollar barrel, vs I found the MPA Mac for 425 dollars. I would be into it almost double at 800 dollars vs the Mac at 425 and not doing anything too it.

Talk me into it, tell me its worth the extra money.

There's no talking you into anything. You either want it or you don't. The price for the G20 is way to high.

I'll keep my G20 with a 5.15" LWB and you buy the 9mm Squirt gun. :) Then you will dump the Squirt gun and buy a G20 anyway.

That's way too much to pay for a stock G20. I'm not sure what a Masterpiece Arms is, but no way I'd buy an off brand 9mm over a G20. It's pretty much the only gun I carry when the weather allows a cover garment. My G29 fills in the rest of the year. I'm not sure you need to be talked in to anything. Either get it or don't, but as mentioned above, you'll end up getting it anyway so don't waste your money.

You should be looking at Gunbroker, Ed's Public Safety, Bud's Guns or at least another Local Gun Shop. You're getting gouged at $650. They're not even that high here in Über-inflated California.

G20... The best Glock ever made and a blast to shoot.

The Glock 20 with a 6" barrel sounds pretty sweet to me.

I have noticed that during our current ammo famine, while all the popular calibers are scarce, you can find some of the more unique calibers still on the shelves.

Just looked up your 9mm. Wow! Somebody came up with a gun even blocker than a Glock! Still no way I'd pay $450 for a squared off Mac wanna be. I doubt they're accurate and they'd only be fun as a conversation piece. There's not even enough room for your support hand to hold that thing properly.

If you want a 9x19 then get a Glock 17. Want to shoot Yogi after he steals your pic-nic basket? The Glock 20 should be your Glock of choice.

$650 is not that high here in Cuomoland, formerly New York. Most of the LGS around have the 10mm/45 gen3s in that range. Not that you can find any anymore.

It's your money. It seems high to me, but if they're hard to come by up there and you really have your heart set on it, then any joy you get from it is worth the money. I'd skip the 10mm myself, but if you're getting it as a novelty then I suppose that works, the 10mm is a novelty cartridge.

Everyone saying the Glock 20 is high? Where are they not 600+? I cant find anywhere.

I am going to own both anyways so its a moot point, this is just whatever I get first. However say enough mean stuff about the other one, I might even buy the glock overpriced or not.

Between last night and this morning budsgunshop.com sold the last of their glock 20s and the price was 668 or something like that. Now the only place I can find that has them is an auction site.

You have to present your homeland security ID to order one from Champion.

It will take a week, maybe more, for the civilian ones to be out. I spoke to my local FFL days after shot show and ordered one, it isn't in yet.

I guess in addition to the extended barrel, whats better storm lake or lone wolf? I need to be under 200 for the barrel.

Any others to consider in this price range? Assuming I can find a Glock 20 under 600.........

I put a KKM extended barrel on my G20. Not cheap, but I believe better than Lone Wolf mystery steel barrel.

just to pour salt in your wound, You can get a .40S&W barrel and a 9x25 Dillon barrel, and .357 Sig barrel and shoot them too out of the G20....hahah...Get out your C/C...I have a S/S 10mm 6" Comp. barrel I have never used "Yet"

Suggested aftermarket barrel manufacturers, in the order of my preference, for a drop-in barrel in your price range:

1. KKM Precision (extremely satisfied with my 45-10mm conversion barrel and customer support is excellent)
2. StormLake (quality product based on numerous customer reports, I would buy with confidence)
3. Lone Wolf Distributors (third place and fading IMHO)

You are a bit nasty, but correct. You can indeed shoot those calibers in a G20.

I gotta agree with GRT45 on quality list. The top two should run you $160-$175 last time I checked. LoneWolf runs around $125 if I recall correctly but there have been more than a few problems with LW and you get that (new) stupid dog burned into your barrel hood.

The G20 is a great pistol, but $650 is way high.

*If someone gave me $850 for the Gen3 G20SF.... would not sell it.
G20 is an amazing weapon....*10mm is awesome...Times are changing...if you want one...`Get it now while you can... and enjoy it.

I like my G20. Shoots better then my .40s. Feels like it has less muzzle flip also. Also very accurate and a straight shooter.

My next Glock will be a G20 :cool:

With the exception of Gander Mtn here, all glocks including Gen4's are under $600. At least the local Gander will price-match the LGS.

In Glock terms the G20 is a low volume pistol and so they probably do batch runs every so often. This is likely to be one of those times when the last batch has mainly sold out so they gun shops can put up their prices. In another month or three Glock should do another run and the prices will fall again. It might be worth waiting a while and getting a better deal.

As been mentioned that price is too high! If this doesn't sell you on the G20, just get a 9!
