Road Rage at Mc Donalds
After a long due vacation after being hospitalized, my wife and I
left for our cabin in eastern Ore. We left early and both of us got hungry along the way, so we made a stop at Mc Donalds. After eating our Mc Somethings, I looked both ways and backed out of my parking place. When I was backing out a beat up volkswagen tore into the driveway and screached on his brakes. The guy rolled his window down and asked if I was something Fuc*ing special. Of course I answered him, yes I'm special, explectives deleted. We left and stopped at the service station to fill up. So here comes this guy and his girl screaming and pointing their fingers in the appropriate direction at me. Ignoring him, we left after filling up. Unfortunately the dog had to go and we stopped at an appropriate place. After the dog did her business, we were getting back in the car, and here comes the guy in the volkswagen. He got out of his car with a baseball bat, expletives deleted. I had 7 firearms in the car, but they were secured and unavailable for quick acess. I did have a model 60 S&w in the jockey box for quick access if I needed it, but I left the situation in a hurry. I don't know if that makes me a *****, but all that I could think about was my wifes safety and the consequences of using a firearm on this basta*rd. I think that I did the right thing by leaving, but if that guy arrived a few minutes earlier, I might have taken a different approach to the situation. I think that I did the right thing by leaving, considering the consequences! |
Eeee.
That was close. Glad you weren't forced into making an armed stand. De-escalating was the right thing to do. Rest, relax, and be on the mend (medically speaking). :) |
Thanx horge...I think that I did the right thing. I was taking
15 miligrams of coumadin at the time ( blood thinner ) a baseballbat could have caused severe bleeding internally. |
It's good that you chose the right thing to do. igven that situation, even if you were at a better advantage with a gun or guns, the aftermath is still ugly. you will still have a lot of explaining with the authorities.
Now cool things down a bit and its high time to treat your wife to an elegant dinner. |
Valor, I already treated my wife to an elegant dinner. When we got
to the cabin I cooked steaks over the campfire and shared an excellent bottle of wine with her! |
Alchemy 53,
You could've offered to buy the guy in the Volks a Happy Meal to help him relax ;f Kidding aside, I'm glad you and your wife got through that situation all right. De-escalating and leaving the situation was a good judgment call on your part. But tell me, is road rage prevalent in the US, and did you subsequently report the guy to the police? He did, after all, come at you with a baseball bat. |
road rage
Mikey I reported the incident to the police....and yes road rage
is prelevent in the USA. The guy acted like he was a meth head. |
You did good. ^c
|
Very good decision. Flight today fight another day
|
this is where open carry on the hip would have cooled his jets.
|
Kudos to you, Alchemy53. ^c
You've displayed emotional maturity and intelligence. Something gun-owners should have 24/7. Glad it turned out well. |

Alchemy53,
you mean just dinner? ;f anyway take care of yourselves. its good you went through this without getting hurt. |
COOL
I raise a cold one for you Alchemy 53.
|
Alchem ... it's almost always best to flee if you can (with a very few exceptions).
The bottom line is, if the good guys are well afterward, you did the right thing! |

it takes a real MAN to keep himself away from situations like that...GOOD decision and congratulate yourself for your act..but next time keep one of your blasters close to you...;) |
cool
cool thing to do, but...... well it's the cool thing to do.
|
i would have done the same thing. smart move!!!
|
alchem,
i bet that the :psycho: perp was trying to make your day crappy, like his whole life has been. :animlol: as jt said, i raise a cold one for ya ! coz it takes a real man to walk away from situations like that, especially with a gun at your disposal :50cal: |
You did the right thing. Leaving the incident doesn't make you half a man. That guy doesn't have a bright future. Don't let guys like that ruin your future.
|
I agree with the other guys who have posted before me that you picked the right and mature course of action.

j/k. Good job. |
You deffinetly did the right thing, but in my opinion
HE is lucky YOU got away. You were armed. I had a similar experience, but at the time I was UNarmed. Some guy started cussing at my wife for a stupid reason I will not get into right now, but as I approached him, he was reaching for a baseball bat from his car. Well, guess what, I ran. It wasn't worth it. Not for a moment of heated tensions. |
