Post Your General Music Playing Thoughts
My bassist friend and I have been working around the Cm,G,F#m,Em chords. I'll play F#m again then Em, or Am to Em. I usually start on Cm after that. Any thoughts? What have you been playing lately?

Wow! I'm only aware of three chords, and they have numbers not letters, they are I, IV and V. You must have study theory a lot.:)

At least you have somebody else to there, I play alone but I just ran into a few guys who play also. I play all sorts of stuff, and more so here lately. Jam on!

F#m is probably one of my favorite keys:)

I haven't practiced playing scales much, but I try to work out the notes in my head when we start a new jam. I use the 2,4,5,7,9,11,12 half step(s) method. I think it's easier than the Whole, Whole, Half, Whole, Whole, Whole, Half step method. Same thing really.
Another one we try to play with is the A, D, G, A major chords. I like to play A, d, G, A, Bb, A, Bb then start over. The C works well with it also. It just depends on where you try to fit it in with your tempo. These are usually in the E major bar chord, or the F major bar chord. BTW, here is a great guitar chord generator. it will show you many variations, and if you put your cursor over the fret position it will show you the notes.http://www.ws64.com/guitarchords/gitmini/index.html |
