Great Information ;)

Rally Vincent 12-25-2005 19:05

It's a formidable list.

(Always wanted to use the word "formidable" somewhere.)

BilltheCat 12-25-2005 19:22

Alexii 12-25-2005 22:01

How about...

Places to learn the proper use?

www.thunderranchinc.com
www.shootrite.org

etc...

Other forums?

www.1911forum.com
www.louderthanwords.us
www.pistolsmith.com

For finishing - Black T is a popular finish, but has no website. How about...

Black T - Walter Birdsong - 601-939-7448, $160 shipped back.

Oh yeah - how about BROWNELLS????

FlaChef 12-25-2005 23:29

fobus
grandfather oak custom
blackhawk

gunsmiths...
gemini customs

PrincipalGlock 12-26-2005 05:50

Don't forget:

www.alumagrips.com

Thanks for this great resource.

freepatriot 12-26-2005 08:08

I found this recently, put it under a "research" category:

http://proofhouse.com

S ;c

Short Cut 12-26-2005 09:00

What should we call a category with companies like:
Brownells
Midway
Natchez
etc. ?

Thanks for the training links. I hadn't thought to include those with 1911 links, but what the hey training is valuable and it couldn't hurt to include that as a seperate category.

I'll try to locate the links for those additional holster companies, FlaChef, thanks. ^c

Alumagrips is there right at the top of the grip list. Great product btw.

Great link and idea for a "Research" category, Scott. Was thinking that some historic and GI issue info would fit well too.

PrincipalGlock 12-26-2005 09:09

alumagrips, and I even checked the list twice.

sorry

The holster makers are up. Gemini is there, but I really need to alphabetize that category.

I'm going to put up the mega retailers next, but I'm not sure what to call that category.

How about ONLINE RESOURCES

pangris 12-26-2005 11:10

Mega Retailers - has a nice ring :)

Short Cut 01-06-2006 05:53

Updated to include two new manufacturers and the category of gun auctions and bulletin boards.

WIG19 01-06-2006 08:43

Suggest adding Yost-Bonitz under the SIGHTS section, particularly for their nicely done Retro.
:)

sights:
crimson trace

Training:
Options for Personal Safety
Blackwater

Short Cut 01-10-2006 19:26

Thanks FlaChef!

I posted up links for Crimson Trace and Blackwater. Does Digilight make a weapon mounted light? I might be missing it. Can't find a link for Options for Personal Safety.

PrincipalGlock 01-10-2006 19:31

How about www.reddiamondonline.com

Holsters, flashlights etc.

Short Cut 01-10-2006 20:08

Thanks PrincipalGlock!

They're a good outfit. I added them under the category of MEGA RETAILERS because they have so many product lines to offer.

that's because i misremmebered the name, it security not safety...

Most of digilights smaller line are designed w/ pistol use in mind, they have several mounting brackets fit for their lights (sold seperately). A couple of the larger ones are also rated for shotgun use. I know a guy from steyrclub who works for them and they sponsor his IDPA and 3-gun habit.
