As a matter of fact I do own an 870 and a Mossberg Mariner along with the current Maverick 88. The earlier Mavericks were bought when I was young and broke and sold for cash when I need it (ie: Young and broke) No Maverick I have ever owned has had a failure and I don't own safe queens. I have had and do have guns that may be smoother but the maverick is a great gun for someone that wants a good gun with a good price to go with it.

It does it's job and doesn't give any trouble. I'll probably always have one around.
