The manual for my 590 warns that closing with action with the barrel removed may cause damage to the firearm. Does anyone know what kind of damage might occur? It doesn't seem like anything would get battered/broken from this... I don't do it intentionally but it does happen from time to time accidentally and I'm just curious.
