KC, the advice I offered to this GT member hasn't changed.

Folks recommend the .380 ball round for "adequate penetration," but that round has earned a poor reputation for more than a century. The JHPs do seem to work better, but their penetration generally IS limited.

Wishing I could be more upbeat on the .380,
