If I am not mistaken, most of these cartridges were engineered to help bring the 1911 45 auto back into viability. They were improvements on the old 45 auto to keep it from falling into obscurity. The old 45 Auto now shares the ballistic capabilities of modern handguns, thanks to these obscure cartridges. And the Glock handgun, being the masterpiece of engineering that it is, easily adapts to firing these obscure cartridges. And for that I am thankful!
