Iron sights do not need batteries.
Iron sights rarely, if ever, break or fail.
Iron sights are always there, not in a pack.

Colt SP1 carbine

Wife's plinker, a BCM lower, Spikes 22lr upper, is normally shot
without the Aimpoint installed.
