The Senate "might" want to try, and the House will reject any gun control legislation. They won't get around the 2nd amendment that way.
What they "probably" will do is bide their time for a year or two and replace a conservative or moderate Supreme Court Justice (due to illness, retirement, etc.) with a liberal justice (along the lines of Kagan, Sotomayor, Ginsberg) who will help to "re-interpret" the 2nd amendment.
Don't forget, Heller was 5 to 4 in our favor. I don't seeing the makeup of the SCOTUS remaining that way for 4 more years.
And that "new" makeup of SCOTUS will haunt every aspect of our lives.
