From what I gather online, it seems to be split about 50/50, or pretty close to that, some claiming they didn't have belly buttons because they were made and not born, and others claiming they were made with belly buttons to look like everybody else.
I think I remember reading somewhere that there was a bible verse where one of their kids asked why they didn't have belly buttons, but I could be totally wrong about that. It's 3am, my brain isn't fully functioning.
