My 44 specials have taken elk. I hand load all my rounds and have various length barrels and all Rugers. I am not one bit concerned or worried to walk down nasty street if I were in a town or city, (and have been at times) with a 44 special and a 250gr/300gr bullet. If it drops elk it drops men.....

Not here to argue...

In 25 years (now a former guide) I have seen 44 special bring down very large game animals. I don't know why so many are so afraid of this caliber. I suppose they just do not understand it, or have not been in the field for 50 oveveral years with it on large game.... I mean NO disrespect in that statement.

Good luck, good shooting
