The remake Savage 99 back in the 1990s was pretty bad with fit & finish. So I think that I'm going to hunt me up an old Savage.

My old Savage is a pleasure to shoot, still has the original Lyman Alaskan scope my wife's grandfather put on it.
The .300's actually seem to be the easiest to get and most affordable, it's a decent round and is very easy to load for.
