For home defense, keep the bead. Unless you have hallways over 50 yards long, it's the best. But if you want rifle sights, Remington puts both the front and rear on the barrel, so you just swap barrels to have them. No gun is cheaper and easier to modify by replacing parts than an 870.

Keep in mind, we still use bead sights because they are fast - there is a reason the guys shooting birds and rabbits and little clay pigeons flying through the air don't use rifle sights. They'll easily do the job for burglars.
