Zbomb,
I am in the habit of clearing weapons every time I touch them. If I set one down next to me, and pick it up again, I clear it. Each and every time, without fail, no exceptions. It is only after I do this, with a firearm remaining in hand, and a snap cap chambered (I do not dry fire on empty chambers) that I practice. When I have the TV on, it is with a purpose: I use the movement to practice tracking with my front site. I am not watching a program, as such.
You may flame away, sir. I am OK with that. Just know that the person you're flaming has been teased repeatedly because I have set a cleared weapon down, action open, then picked it up, checked the chamber, dropped the slide, and subsequently chamber checked it again-- repeatedly. I can't 'turn off' the habit.
Have a happy Sunday, sir.
