What really matters is what you intend to use the knife for and then pick one that closely matches your needs and not really worry about the name if quality and materials are similar.
I agree, most ZTs are way too clunky. I like Emerson's no nonsense style, i just wish he'd step up the steel game. I've heard his reasoning for using only 154cm which is fine, but he could offer other steels as well IMO.
