i personally love the outer banks of north carolina. if i wasn't such a homebody i'd move there in a heartbeat.

we just rented a house over spring break (my hubby, 10 year old and 3 year old) on topsail island, north carolina. it's actually south of the outer banks. the weather was a little cool (this was mid april) but it was so awesome to be right on the beach. there are very few houses on topsail that have pools but you'd find a ton if you look in the actual outerbanks. i've vacationed there twice. we camped (that's how we spent all of our family vacations growing up) in rodanthe. i have a good friend who rents a beachhouse (with pool) every year. i think she stays on duck island.

there's a ton of rental info online. that's how i found our house.
