If you want to quote a previous post, go to that post and click the "quote" buttom in the bottom-right corner. The box for your response will appear, with the code for the quote already inserted. You can delete portions of the quote if the entire post is really long (other readers will appreciate it) by just highlighting and erasing the portions you don't want to quote; but leave the code at the end, or you won't get the proper effect.
Type your response to the quoted portion underneath the quote, and hit the "Submit Reply", button or the "Preview Reply" button if you want to see what it will look like before posting it.
