1911 9mm in ESP
I've shot a few IDPA matches in SSP but I'm thinking about using my Kimber 1911 9mm in ESP. Do people use the 9 round mags in ESP or are there 10 round or higher cap mags available? I assume the 11 round max limit is also for ESP.

Wilson Combat offers 10-round 9mm mags. I use Wilson Combat mags for my .45 and they are incredible.
Midway USA has those 9mm mags for $33.99. Wilson's are not cheap but once you own and use Wilson magazines you'll understand why they are a bit pricey.

Mag limits are the same for esp as ssp.
Some people think it's an advantage to use 9 round mags, so they have 10 in the gun at the start. Use what you have, IF they work, and have fun!!

It's actually a 10+1 limit, Fly. Do the 10 rounders. <g> You don't have to use Wilsons.

I use Tripp 10 round magazines in my 9mm Kimber. No "issues" whatsoever. I would definitely recommend them.

A recent "Gun Tests" article rated the Wilson magazines as the preferred choice (and there were more expensive ones in the test) for the 1911 platform.
I shoot a Glock, so what do I know? The $20 Glock magazines seem to perform flawlessly, in a 34/17/23 etc, - but not so much in a 1911.

I also saw the article in Gun Tests magazine, and was wondering why they didn't include the Tripp, Cobra mags also.

I have had great luck with Tripp 9x19 mags in my 1911.
10+1 is the limit in ESP.
I have used both 9+1 and 10+1 and it really doesent matter. An advantage here and a disadvantage there. It all works out.
