I have an 870 Police with the Surefire fore-end. The standard Barrel/Magazine band has the sling swivel mount on the underside which positions it right in front of the Surefire fore-end interfering with the light beam. It even cuts into the light beam with no sling attached. Is anyone aware of a Barrel/Magazine band that has the sling swivel mount on the side? Or any other ideas?

When I can't talk a client out of putting the Remington extension on his weapon and there is going to be a Surfire forend on it, I use a bracket that does not have the stud. I then use a Wilson sling plate so he still has a forward mounting option.

If you use any bracket that has a sling mount infront of the light and ever use a sling, the sling is going to be in front of the light and can cause and issue. The studless Remington bracket and Wilson plate removes this issue. Even better, change to a Wilson Combat 2 shot extension.

The shotgun came equipped with the Remington extension and I installed the Surefire. The Wilson Combat 2 shot extension is what I think I will go with, plus it is available for wrong handed shooters too (lefties) . To make sure I'm seeing the right item, is it part number SGET-LH-2?

Puppy, not funny. Most all tactical training courses require a sling so where you don't need or want a sling for HD, you still need the mouting options if you are going to attend any training.

Yes, that is the right part number for the Wilson you want. Next thing to do is install the Right hand eject Left hand safety Police trigger plate assembly and you are there.

Anyway on a more serious note, unless your planning on humping the rifle/shotgun some great distance while on foot, there really is no reason to put one on there.

I've aquired several slings over the 35 someodd years that I've been hunting & shooting but only one (a single point quick detach bungie) ever see's any real use & that one is attached to an airsoft PTW that I play 8 hour long mil-sim games with.

I wish I didn't need it on there because like all slings it has a habit of getting in the way, but since it's quick detach I can take it off & put it back on in a matter of seconds, having to screw around with a regular two point sling all day would drive me bonkers.

Just my .02 on the topic.

I have GG&G front and rear side mounts on my hunting shotgun along with a quality 2 point sling. Carry my stand on my back, hang the gun on the front. Practical as heck.
