As long as the firing pin isn't broken in half the rifle will not FIRE out of battery.
If something is stuck to the bolt face then you could have a slam fire but not FIRE out of battery.
Take the carrier out and pull the bolt to the front, push the firing pin in from the rear and you can see it will not protrude through the face of the bolt. Stoner was a pretty smart fellow he designed it so the firing pin is pulled back out of the bolt on every cycle. The firing pin will only protrude if the bolt has been cammed into the lock position. On a semi it is best to size the cases (shoulder)back .004" for reliability, on a bolt gun neck sizing or.002 is fine.
