I got it!

The 1st post, that is.

While we're here, tell us what you shoot.

My current is a Mathews Outback. Love it.

I had a mathews switchback xt, but sold that to get my G19.
I still have my riser and other parts for my old blackmax2.

In my opinion, if it shoots an arrow, it's good.

OK. I don't actually have a crossbow but I've thought about getting one so I can have a longer deer season here in Ohio.

That was the main reason I got into archery. September thru the end of January bow season.

I just got into archery about 3 months ago and bought a Hoyt Alphamax. Now I just gotta find a good replacement for the cheap target I bought 3 months ago!! The arrows are going through my target and sticking in my wood fence!

I haven't shot my bows in a long time, years. I have an 80s-vintage Martin Lynx that I took to the (former) local archery shop and had fitted with fiber optic sight pins, peep, new arrow rest and tuned. I also have a Ben Pearson Puma recurve, that is warped after being left strung and sitting in my truck on a blazing hot day, apparently with something putting pressure against one end. Funny thing is that I had hardly shot it, so it seems to shoot pretty accurately, because there was nothing to adjust to. Basically, it being warped was the only way I ever knew it.

I like the recurve a lot more. It's just me and the bow, no adjustments, timing, releases or anything to deal with. If I miss, then it's my technique, and nothing mechanical to mess with. I'd like to to get a nicer recurve, one that's straight, and start shooting arrows again. It'd be fun to try a longbow, too.

I agree, I'd love to get into traditional archery.

I've been shooting Traditional bows for the last 12 years or so and find them to be more fun. A-teamer you can easily "untwist" your recurves limbs. Just do a search on stickbow.com or tradgang.com for articles showing how to do it........

That's a nice Mathews you got there. Mine is a 2007 PSE Mach X. It's a fun bow to shoot and super fast but it's not as smooth and quiet as the Mathews.

Just started this year.

shooting a PSE Mach6. friend gave it to me with a dozen A/C/C's and all the fixins.

will hunt with it for a year or two then definitely look into something newer.

This will be my first year hunting with a crossbow. I bought a Parker Tornado. So far, I've killed the target!!! Now I'm waiting for opening weekend, October 2nd.

I used to shoot recurve bows (most enjoyable!) but haven't done much in the last 9 years. The friendly neighbor recently acquired a compound bow and target and offered to let me try them out. Looking forward to it!

I stay on the tradtional side with recurve and Longbows. I have a PSE BlackHawk recurve at 55 pounds. And i have a Martin/Damon Howatt, Venom longbow at 65 pounds. I have to say i love the longbow, so much better than the recurve.

Very cool! I'd love to get into Traditional archery, but really can't take on another expensive hobby.

My old Mathews FX. I think I got this around 2000 when I was 15. Haven't been shooting much lately, in high school I was shooting just about every day, I got back into it a few months ago. Right now I just have my target in my basement, so I get about a 10 yard shot.

I've considered getting a new bow, but can't justify spending $1000 on a new one when this bow has yet to fail me. It shoots as good as I can, so I don't think a new one will help at all.

I also would like to get into traditional archery.

I recently began archery with a compound Diamond Infinity by Bow-Tech....I am 59 and took this up as a way to continue target shooting bulls-eye since the ammo shortages...

I will use it, eventually, for bow-fishing this spring...

I can now put all my arrows (6) into the size of a paper plate (8 inches ) at 75 feet....I have no reference so I don't know if that's any good yet, but I'm learning...

Out I am...

Still shooting my Parker Tornado crossbow. I've killed several deer, a handful of turkeys and a bunch of feral hogs. Best shooting investment I ever made...
