James, the Riguad looks to be a Molina with larger sights. Is that pretty much the deal?

That is what it looks like. I can see no other differences between the two models that I have.

Very nice collection. Where do you come up with these? I hardly ever see Argentine 1911s around. I dont remember the last one I saw for sale. Auction sites?

I visit the GT Want Ads, the AR15 Equipment Exchange, and a few other forum want ad sections daily to look for good buys and interesting guns. It all boils down to perseverence and luck. I have been lucky a few times. I did make two finds at gunshows (Ballester-Molina and the Sistema Colt).

I remember seeing some of those at gunshows when I was a little kid. I kinda knew what a 1911 was, those memories are pretty fuzzy.

The only pictures of Ballester Rigauds that I have been able to find show sights no different from the Ballsester Molina or same period Colt or Systema. I think somebody wanted sights he could see along with the reblue.

That could be. There is no telling when that was done. I can tell it was reblued. It looks nicer than my Molina.

The top two in the group pic are 1911s. The bottom two are not, but close.
