Hey Zak,

What do you recommend in the way of rings and bases for a first build? I have been looking at the Badger 20 MOA base (based on reviews of others who use it), but I am not sure what type of rings I want.

The problem I have with rings is that most of my current optics have 1" tubes, and most high-end steel rings are designed for 30mm tubes, or 1" inserts.

A few questions:
Will the inserts hurt accuracy if properly installed?
Will a QD throw lever (such as an A.R.M.S mount) be detrimental to accuracy?
How do you feel about the Burris XTR rings?

On a bolt gun, stick with regular style rings. I do not recommend inserts.
