Pocket Knife:

Is assisted opening the new to me politically correct nomenclature for auto?
not being a wiseguy truly want to know, As I may have found a bench made 580 something model I want if assisted means auto which is legal in my State.
Thanks for any help you'll give me.

Re: Pocket Knife

Dear Babarracing,

Assisted opening is technically not an auto, but its awfully close. Generally not illegal but you better verify with your local jurisdiction. Assisted opening knives have a spring that flips the blade with enough force to open it about halfway, and not to a full locked position.

Best Regards,
