Does anyone know why the Sig P229 Stainless Elite comes with a Plastic Guide rod? Is it because of the weight of the Gun?

All seven of my Sigs use those from Bedair Machine Works.

Thanks. I just put in and order for one for my P229. I picked up three 14 round sig factory mags from CDNN sport, now all I need is for the town to get off there fat *** and type up my permit so I can pick it up. I hate NJ I've been waiting 40 days now

Because they're too friggin' cheap to use a $5.00 stainless steel one in a $1,200 pistol.

If I worked for that company, I'd be ashamed at the crap they're doing to the fine name of Sig Sauer.

Plastic guide rods in a Sig eh? Everything I've read says it shouldn't/doesn't make a difference. That's reading though and we all know what that's worth. Here's what I do know though. If I had a plastic guide rod in my pistol, I'd go find a metal one, lol.

Bedair is the link I have in my favorites for when I place an order for stainless rods. I've heard good things about his product and speed of delivery. Grey Guns makes a "fat" one (read his site for info). I'd never heard of the 2 Snak3 posted. They look like quality though.
